TEETH SENSITIVITY MANAGEMENT

Low level Laser Therapy

Laser desensitization, a form of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), provides immediate relief from sensitive teeth without the need for anesthesia. The procedure works by sealing microscopic openings in the dentin that lead to sensitive nerve tissue, while directing laser energy into the affected areas to suppress nerve activity by eliminating the exposed tubules. Additionally, LLLT’s known anti-inflammatory and photobiomodulatory properties help reduce inflammation in the dental pulp and surrounding tissues. Using low-power lasers or LEDs in the red to near-infrared spectrum (650–1000 nm), LLLT stimulates natural healing processes and alleviates pain without causing heat damage or structural changes to the tissue.

Key Features of Laser :

  • Non-invasive and painless

  • Does not produce heat, unlike surgical lasers

  • Often used as an alternative to drugs or surgery

  • Involves exposure of cells or tissue to low levels of red and near-infrared light
